I'm Kristi, the Office Manager and I have been in the dental field for 16 years. I started out as a receptionist with no dental background for a private dental practice that quickly turned into a corporation. I was forced to quickly learn the ropes on my own. I have played several roles in the dental office, starting as a newby at the front desk and then to office manager, later taking on a larger role as a trainer for new employees on the day to day tasks, and helping them to understand a difficult DOS based computer system. I spent a couple of years in Chattanooga, TN managing an office for a periodontist and teaching them how to use the computer that was sitting on their desk as they were still scheduling in a book with the dental software right in front of them.
I'm very loyal and do not change jobs often, but have been given many great opportunities to learn various aspects of managing and running a dental office from some really great people, whom I respect and still remain in contact with.
It is a challenge to stay up to speed on the ever changing rules and guidelines set by the insurance companies, but I do my best to stay ahead of the game. I wish it was more simple because I most enjoy helping make sure people are educated on "why" it is important to come back for their treatment and how your overall dental health is so very important to keeping your entire body healthy. Often people just don't realize there really is an important connection.
I love working for Dr. Davidson and worked with her for a brief amount of time in Greenwood in 2005 before the birth of my son. I was so excited to come back to work for her and be a part of this team when the opportunity was presented. She is a wonderful Dentist and amazing person. There is nothing more satisfying than spending workdays with people that you respect, enjoy and trust.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband while we watch our son grow up so quickly. He is a true blessing! We spend much time in the summer at a cottage in Silver Lake, Michigan riding atv's on the sand dunes, playing in the sand and just relaxing and enjoying life. We also have a rescued Boxer named "Tiller" that likes LOTS of attention.
